Circle of Nations School
integrates a positive, affirming Native American cultural
experience with the latest in educational methods and
technology. Circle of Nations seeks to equip students with
the skills they need to meet life's challenges, and to be
productive, socially responsible individuals with a healthy
sense of self and community.
CNS is a residential grant school
established in 1993 by Public Law 100-297. The campus is
located in the city of Wahpeton, ND, with approximately 55 acres
serving the school grounds. The school has been operated
directly by the Bureau of Indian Affairs since 1908.
The six member, five state school
board and the school administration actively pursue Native
American children from reservation and urban areas nation wide.
The Circle of Nations School serves students in grades 3 through
8 from over 30 different tribal affiliations.
Programs to meet student
challenges include: life skills, student case management
program, child protection program, psychological services and
