MISSION/PURPOSE

The stakeholders of Circle of Nations have looked very carefully at the Mission and Vision statements of the Bureau of Indian Education.  We have drafted a school improvement plan which is aligned with the mission, purpose and goals of the legal entities which represent all of the stakeholders. The Bureau of Indian Education states that our schools’ vision for Native American children is “uniting to promote healthy communities through lifelong learners.”  In addition, the mission of the Bureau of Indian Education is stated as follows: “Providing quality education opportunities from early childhood through life in accordance with the tribe’s needs for cultural and economic well-being and in keeping with the wide diversity of Indian Tribes and Alaska Native villages as distinct cultural and governmental entities.  The BIE shall manifest consideration of the whole person, taking into account the spiritual, mental, physical and cultural aspects of the person within family and Tribal or Alaska Native village contexts.” More Related Links
